How to Assure Your Mac Security

It’s really very very important to regularly maintain our things. For example if we have a car to keep it working we need to regularly take care of it’s maintenance. Follow the given steps:

1)Always scan every download:

It’s very necessary to research about any computer software before downloading. Clicking on any links about which you are not aware of is not recommended. So before downloading scan it to assure your Mac security ,may be it contains the virus which may harm your Mac.

2)Keep your eye on security settings:

To access your Mac security settings go into the System Preferences application. You’ll get either in your application folder or you can access this application by clicking apple in the top left corner of the screen and choosing System Preference application from the drop down menu. Once you receive the access of the application check whether all your software is updated or needed to update them. If needed go to Software update option under the System category in System Preferences. For future use you can select  update software automatically option to not bother you regarding the updates part. Also it’ll provide you option to choose how often you want the software to get updated means daily, weekly or monthly.

3)Enable firewall settings to make it more secure:

To keep a hand distance away from robbers better to enable the firewall settings in your Mac. To enable it follow the steps:

  1. Go to personal cateogry in System Prefernces.
  2. Select icon titled Security & Privacy.
  3. After choosing the security tab you’ll find a tab labelled as Firewall (it works to filter through connections and only allow those are safe).
  4. Once you enetered the firewall scetion, it’ll provide you two options:
  5. If you choose “Block all incoming connection option”, then it’ll disable your computer’s file sharing and screen sharing abilities.
  6. Second option you have to allow certain connections by selecting “Add application” option. After choosing this option you have complete privilege to add application for which you allow connection or you can remove applications that you don’t want in that list

4)Encryption of your hard drive is required:

Mac is inbuilt with the ability to encrypt your entire hard drive, means external hard drive will be also included in that. Now you must be wondering that how your Mac will encrypt it. So guys it will be done with the help of FileVault. You need to enable FileVault , for this choose the FileVault tab under Security and privacy icon. After all your files get encrypted you can only access your files with the help of your password or by recovery key. So jus make sure that while setting your password keep it simpler and easier to remember because if you forget both of them you’ll able to access you file.

The last way to control who can use your computer, set a password. You can do this under Security & Privacy by choosing General tab. The very first thing which yiu need to do is check the box that says “Disable automatic login” . Once you checked on this option, any other person who opens your computer will need to provide a password before any programs can be opened or run. In fact you can also set the password after going off the sleep mode or when the screensaver stops. Also we would suggest you not share your password with anyone. You can also allow guest users to login into your computer under guest section. For login into a guest account won’t required password and once the guest logs out , all the files in the guest account are wiped clean.

Although Mac is already secured but you should keep yourself aware to prevent hackers, malware and unauthorized users from accessing your data. It’ll not only keep you files safe and secure but would also reduce risk of being hacked or rduce the risk for unwanted virus to get download in your system.

Step1: To check if your iOS computer is infected, first click the Apple icon in the top left.

Step2: Then, select “System Preferences”

Step3: System Preferences dialog box get opened. Now locate the “network” icon.

Step4: This opens the Network settings dialog box. Read the “DNS Server” line. If your DNS setting is ok, you are safe if not. You need to take certain steps.
